From 'I HAVE to run' to 'I WANT to run'!


"I started to run occasionally almost two years ago when I was in my early 40s and realized that some physical exercise should be good, not only for my body but also for my mind.


From a practical perspective, running was the most convenient activity as I could practice it whenever and wherever and could be easily accommodated within my existing (and busy) professional and personal life. However, unlike other types of sports which I used to practice and enjoy, running was an activity that I hated all my life. It became like a sort of a challenge: the more I run the more I hated it.


Then, I stopped for a while, but I felt guilty and restarted again, but again I stopped, restarted, stopped… Then, by coincidence, I came across Tao of Running.

I discovered the Tao of running in 2015. As a regular runner, I was not expecting major changes… but after the 10 weeks transformation program and a few half-marathons, I realize that it changed completely my vision and perception of running from the way to move, the way to use my mind, the way to breath and even the way to eat!

I completed my first half-marathon in June 2016 after a preparation based on long runs in the happy zone (1h52). One year later, I ran the SCKL with a more specific program, and I improved my performance by 7min.

And on Dec 4th,2017, with my running partner for 2 years (Loic ), we were running the Angkor Wat Half Marathon. Based on a 12 weeks program prepared by Stephane – more performance-oriented but still based on Tao principles – I beat my previous record by 10min (1h35).

"I have been running for a long time, albeit sometimes more regularly than others. I typically hit the road when my body asked for it. This was like a call for a physical "detox".

However, depending on how long it was since my last run, I often came up with the desire to give it all out, push it to the limits. In some ways, I guess to compensate for the "feel bad" sentiment that I could have for not being active for a while. Surely then my body let me know that I went too far, with heart rate hitting the ceiling and legs aching after the run.

  • 7 Training and Coaching Sessions: Spanning 2 to 2.5 hours each, these sessions blend theoretical knowledge with practical on-the-run coaching, helping you convert insights into actionable skills.
  • Regular Personal Practice: You’ll be guided on how to effectively practice on your own, typically three times a week, reinforcing and building upon what you've learned in coaching sessions.
  • Comprehensive Learning Materials: Gain access to the essential slides from the 7 training modules in PDF format, alongside practical coaching cards and a detailed logbook for tracking your journey.
  • Continuous Support and Interaction: Stay connected with regular guidance through WhatsApp, receive additional resources like reading material and videos, and - optionally- join in on weekly group runs (available for Kuala Lumpur participants), fostering a supportive community.

Question 8: What if I am unavailable for a particular module in a group program?

If you're unable to attend a specific module, we offer several flexible options to accommodate your needs:

  • Rescheduling for Group Availability: If several participants are unavailable, we can reschedule the module to a mutually convenient date.
  • Virtual Catch-up Sessions: We can arrange a short video call (using platforms like Zoom, Teams, or Meet) to cover the key theoretical aspects of the missed module. Additionally, I can allocate extra time for you during the next group run or at our weekly run, should you be able to attend.
  • Joining Alternate Groups: If there's another group session covering the same module around the same time, you have the option to join them, either in-person or via video conference.
  • One-on-One Sessions: For a more personalized catch-up, we can schedule a one-on-one session at a convenient time. Please note, this option involves an additional fee beyond the standard group program cost."
