Tao of Running 10-Week Transformation

A Fit Body, A Sharp Mind, A Happy Soul!

Human Beings Are Supposed To Be Fit, Healthy, Peaceful, Balanced, Focused, And Truly Happy...

But the fast-paced sedentary modern world has negatively impacted our health, performance & true happiness...

We have become really busy and are constantly overwhelmed by responsibilities and unending to-do lists.  As the years go by, we can feel our energy levels as well as physical, mental, and emotional health draining away.

This isn't normal and this isn't right. I designed Tao of Running to help people feel like humans at their best again, not just machines waiting to break down.  You will know that program is for you if more than a handful of the following statements apply:

  • You find yourself feeling moody and irritable
  • It seems like you're always tired and 'low in energy'
  • The idea of running and jogging seems painfultiring, not really for you
  • You struggle with weight loss and/or improving your overall health?
  • Your last blood test made your doctor frown and/or suggest a healthier lifestyle
  • You tend to get injured easily from exercise
  • You feel exhaustion instead of exhilaration from exercise and running
  • You regularly feel nervousanxious, and/or worried?
  • You feel burnt out or even depressed
  • You are exhausted of this continuous tyrannical little voice in your head
  • You feel the need to create some 'space' for yourself
  • You experience brain fog and lack focus/concentration during your day
  • You have difficulties making good decisions, prioritizing your work and delegating
  • You lack creativity and /or intuition
  • You exercise regularly but it does not really help to improve your health and well being
  • You need an activity that you can do anytime, anywhere

More about the links with our human evolution...

Human Evolution and Chronic Stress :  In the last 10,000 to 15,000 years, human beings have gone through three "cultural revolutions" that completely changed the way we move, think, eat, sleep, and live in community. Unfortunately, our bodies and minds were not biologically equipped to cope with these changes, which has led to chronic stress, modern diseases, and unhappiness.

Chronic stress is the number one killer in the modern world and is linked to six of the leading causes of death, including heart disease, cancer, and suicide. More than 75 percent of all physician office visits are for stress-related complaints.

However, we don't have to accept this as our fate. Human beings are supposed to be fit, healthy, peaceful, focused, and truly happy.

The Tarahumara Tribe: A Living Proof :  The Tarahumara tribe in Mexico's Copper Canyon provides an excellent example of this. They have maintained an unchanged lifestyle for ages and have never been exposed to modern practices. As a result, they are free from modern diseases and live with a sense of freedom and joy, running mega-marathons as a part of their daily life.

In contrast to modern society, the Tarahumara tribe does not engage in violence or conflict, and they have never had any interaction with conquistadors. They live a simple and peaceful life that is in tune with their environment, providing us with a living proof that we can achieve a healthier and happier life by living in harmony with nature.

“My name is Ankit, and I work as a procurement excellence professional. I am from India and I live in Malaysia since 2013.

I want to thank Stephane for exposing me to a whole new outlook toward running. I enrolled in the Tao of Running program mid of last year, and there hasn’t been a single week since then without a run. Through the program, I have learned to truly enjoy the experience of running and it helps me center myself and be more self-aware. I feel a stronger connection to nature and it inspires me to keep growing on this path.

The holistic benefits are undeniable. I have been suffering from health issues post-COVID and it was getting worse. The regular practice and nutritional changes have helped strengthen my immunity, and be in good health.

If you are seeking holistic growth physically and mentally, no matter at what stage you are in life, this program is for you.

I am thankful to Stephane for these invaluable learnings”

"I thought I had signed up for a running coaching program but I received so much more than that. Stephane presents a holistic approach to improving one's lifestyle through his Tao of Running transformation.

And a transformation program it is! He does not only advise on proper running techniques, but he also offers a complete toolset to develop healthy habits with nutrition, mindfulness, etc.

The results are quick to show: I enjoy running regularly again despite previous injuries to both knees, the quality of my sleep has improved and the occurrences of my migraines have reduced significantly. Add some weight loss to that and joining Stephane's coaching has been the best investment for me last year.

I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes betterment in their lifestyle."

"This is not a new year resolution… It's a lifetime resolution!

I am 44 yo. And I didn't know how to breathe. I didn't know how to run. I didn't know how to eat. I didn't know how to be at peace with myself. Now I do.
I (re)learned it through this great program. Lasting impact on your well-being!

Good for your body, your mind, and your soul. Try it and (re)connect with your true self."

"A few months ago, I was diagnosed with lung disease. I was new to running and ready to give up. But I was already addicted to this sport and I wanted to persevere.

Thanks to my meeting with Stéphane, and through the program Tao of Running, I was able to move beyond my illness... Each module of the program was a step towards my new balance... running techniques, breathing, mindfulness, serenity, acceptance, and resilience...

Today, I practice running several times a week with a lot of fun! Stephane accompanied me step by step to find my own pace, my own "running style", and I cannot thank him enough for that. Tao of Running is a fantastic program created by a fantastic coach! Thank you Stephane !"

“Thanks Stephane for the support, inspiration, and coaching…
From panting at 400 meters to running my 1st 6km, then 10km, 15km, and finally a Half Marathon, it has been an amazing journey…
I could not have dreamt of this in just 4 months…

The best part is how I do not experience any pain after all the runs thanks to the preparation, training regime, and techniques imparted…. I went around Melaka the whole day after my 15km and did the same in Ipoh after my 21km… Essentially means I ran for myself and spent the rest of the day with family… This means all parties are happy!

Finally, you were not just a Running Coach. I always refer to you as a Lifestyle Coach to my friends. From nutrition to running and mental conditioning, you really supported me through this journey with the right amount of tips. Thanks a lot!“

From 'I HAVE to run' to 'I WANT to run'!

"I started to run occasionally almost two years ago when I was in my early 40s and realized that some physical exercise should be good, not only for my body but also for my mind.

From a practical perspective, running was the most convenient activity as I could practice it whenever and wherever and could be easily accommodated within my existing (and busy) professional and personal life. However, unlike other types of sports which I used to practice and enjoy, running was an activity that I hated all my life. It became like a sort of a challenge: the more I run the more I hated it.

Then, I stopped for a while, but I felt guilty and restarted again, but again I stopped, restarted, stopped… Then, by coincidence, I came across Tao of Running.

Stephane is a passionate trainer and teacher. His knowledge and his background are amazingly broad and his statements and pieces of advice are deeply supported. Through his coaching sessions, I progressively started to feel what he was telling in the 'classes' was not any more theory but real.

Following Stephane's techniques and mindfulness advice I've started to run smoothly, wisely, aware of my physical sensations, then the overall benefits flew naturally.

Personally, I am feeling healthier, with more confidence as my physical condition has improved; it has also impacted positively my professional life as my levels of stress have decreased and mindfulness has helped to analyze obstacles and behaviors from a different perspective, resulting in better overall performance."

Ana Alvarez Business Development Director Malaysia - Airbus

“Combining the lessons I learned from Stephane has allowed me to lose 20kgs and incorporate a number of healthy habits into my day.

Once I learned to run more efficiently, I was able to run daily without injury or any of the aches and pains I would usually experience, and my speed has increased. It became a habit that makes me feel good, productive, and gives me a sense of accomplishment every morning.

And the daily exercise habit combined with new nutrition/intermittent fasting habits has turned on my fat-burning engine as I would never experience before, and my resting heart rate is down to 45 from 60 before.

I have never felt better by living the Tao Lifestyle.”

“Go for it if you haven't tried it yet!

Stephane's intelligent and very professional coaching allowed me to overcome my stress and give me the boost I was lacking!

Excellent training for both body and mind! My husband is in it too!

In short, Stéphane deserves his excellent reputation."

“Stephane is an incredible coach. His program is not only a method for running, but above all a holistic approach to well-being through running better, breathing better, eating better, and regaining balance to feel good.

I thought it was impossible for me to run... now I have fun running and it even solved my back problems !!! A MUST without moderation... I am addicted.

Thank you, Stephane, for sharing your passion. Best coach ever!"

"The Tao of Running 10 Week Transformation Program has completely changed my running experience.

Before the program, I was applying a "no pain, no gain" approach to running. I had to force myself to run 3-5 km knowing that it was making me tired and moody. I just finished the program and now I can easily run 10 -12 km.

I can say that running helps me to rejuvenate my body and mind, to feel happier and more energized. I have also lost a few kilos in the process."

“I have completed 4 marathons and yet this program helped me learn to love running so much more!

For the first time I can do long runs without the need for music, and just totally enjoy the rhythm of my heart, the scenery, the cadence of my run. Mindfulness helps not just in running but in other areas of my life as well.

Thanks Tao of Running ! Thank you for your coaching, Stephane !”

" I am 72 years old and I am a long-time runner. I have run more than 20 full marathons and many more half-marathons.

Age is not a reason to stop improving and I decided to sign up for the 10-week program with an open mind to see what I could get from it.

I can definitely see a lot of benefits from this program. I was beginning to feel dejected in my recent long-distance runs. I was more enduring them and my time and speed were stagnating for a while.

The mind and body training techniques learned during this program are making me more alert, mindful, and enthusiastic in all aspects. I have also increased my running efficiency. As a result of that, I am improving again my speed. I have trimmed 30 min in my last ½ marathon compared to the recent ones. And, I still foresee some opportunities to continue improving my time and enjoying more my runs.

Thank you for your coaching, Stephane !”

“For many years, I have tried to incorporate running into my life without success. I was aware of the benefits but I was not taking any pleasure.

A few months ago, I joined a group program of the Tao of Running – 10 Week Transformation. Since then, I’m running a few times a week with great pleasure. It is now part of my lifestyle.

Stephane is a passionate and inspiring holistic coach with deep knowledge in many topics related to personal development and human sciences. He is also an active listener. Even in a group setting, he does his best to personalize his approach to the needs of each participant.”

What Is This 10-Week Program About And What Makes It Unique

Tao of Running ™ offers a unique step-by-step and systematized approach...

.... combining and interrelating:

  • Running techniques and endurance mastery principles to run in a more natural and "effortless way”

Module 2 - Body Training - Part 1

WEEKS 2 & 3

In weeks 2 and 3, you'll focus on building the foundations to run in a more "natural way," which includes reducing the risk of injuries and improving running efficiency.  You will also start to make running "stick" into your life

  • Understand what to do for warm-up, core run, and cool down
  • Know the typical root causes of running injuries and lack of enjoyment
  • Know the foundations for a good posture/running form
  • Have tips to start creating routines and habits to make running “stick” to your life
  • Apply learned techniques during the “on the run” coaching session

After module 2, you will be invited to practice the learning to condition body and mind to the techniques. There will be regular interactions with the coach to share your challenges and progress and receive additional reading material, videos and apps for additional facts & details about the science behind the program. There is no formal module on week 3

Module 3 - Mind Training - Mindfulness

WEEKS 4 & 5

In weeks 4 and 5, you'll continue practicing the techniques learned in weeks 2 and 3, and you'll also learn how to increase your attention and be more aware of the present moment and body sensations while running. The underlying benefits include improved concentration, reduced stress and anxiety, better sleep, and increased joy in the running process.

At the end of module 3 you will:

  • Define and demystify mindfulness
  • Understand how to train your mind to be more mindful both inside and outside of a running context
  • Apply the learned techniques during the "on the run" coaching session

Module 4- Heart Training

WEEK 6

In week 6 of the program, you’ll build on the knowledge of the 5 previous weeks and learn how to use heart rate monitoring strategies to practice running to rebalance your nervous system. This is a critical step to enable different experiences for your body-mind system, such as entering "the zone" or flow state, increasing creativity, and improving intuition.

At the end of module 4 you will:

  • Understand the roles played by different nervous systems for your health & well-being
  • Understand the links between the breathing function & heart function
  • Understand how to practice running to lose weight healthily and become a fat-burning machine
  • Understand the link between the “heart rate zones” and different types of running experiences
  • Have calculated your personal “heart rate zones” and use an heart rate monitor to enable various running experiences
  • Apply learned techniques during the “on the run” coaching session

After module 4, you will be invited to practice the learning to condition body and mind to these new techniques. You will have regular interactions with the coach to share your challenges and progress and receive additional reading material, videos, and apps for additional facts & details about the science behind the program.

Module 5 - Nutrition Principles

WEEK 7

In Module 5, you'll learn how to create a bridge between exercise and nutrition by understanding nutrition principles that will help you make better food choices and improve your eating habits.

Rather than providing specific meal plans, this module focuses on giving you the knowledge and tools to choose appropriate foods that work for you as an individual. By doing so, you'll be able to continue the positive impact on your weight, energy level, sleep, brain performance, mood, and overall well-being that you've already experienced in the program.

At the end of module 5 you will:

  • Understand how to combine exercise and nutrition principles to lose weight healthily and sustain it over time
  • Learn to recognize and dispel myths perpetuated by the food, fitness, and medical industries that may be hindering your progress
  • Understand the differences between sugar-burning metabolism and fat-burning metabolism and how they affect your overall health
  • Learn and apply a simple and powerful technique to break bad eating habits

After module 5, you will be invited to practice the learning to condition body and mind to these new techniques. You will have regular interactions with the coach to share your challenges and progress and receive additional reading material, videos, and apps for additional facts & details about the science behind the program.

Module 6 - Body Training - Part 2

WEEKS 8 & 9

Module 6 takes place during weeks 8 and 9 of the program. During this module, you will learn new running techniques, mind training techniques, and strength/mobility exercises that will help you achieve greater running efficiency and enjoyment. The goal is to bring you closer to experience a state of "flow" while running.

By the end of Module 6, you will:

  • Know some new running techniques, mind training techniques, and mobility/strength exercises to enable the energy to flow more smoothly in the body-mind system
  • Understand how these principles can be applied in your running practice to become a "effortless runner" when the body and mind are working as a single entity
  • Have done a video for running form analysis
  • Apply learned techniques during the “on the run” coaching session

After Module 6, you will be encouraged to practice the techniques you've learned to condition your body and mind. You'll have regular interactions with your coach to share your progress and receive additional reading material, videos, and apps to deepen your understanding of the science behind the program. There is no formal module in week 9.

Module 7 - Mastering Your Own Journey

WEEK 10

Module 7, "Mastering Your Own Journey," is conducted at the final week of the program. During this week, you will review the resources available to you to ensure that you can sustain continuous improvement, also known as "Kaizen" in Japanese. The goal is to reach mastery level and experience the additional underlying benefits, making it a lifestyle, the Tao Lifestyle™.

By the end of Module 7, you will:

  • Receive a video montage providing feedback on your posture and running form and summarizing the remaining opportunities for improvement
  • Envision how your practice will evolve as you reach mastery level
  • Have reviewed the benefits of the program at this stage, as well as the benefits resulting from increasing your level of mastery of the various practices

Ultimately, the goal is to achieve a fit body, a sharp mind, and a happy soul!

"Taking part in the Tao of Running program gave me the ability to run and enjoy it. Feeling the body and liking the movement, the feeling of being in nature, etc... has been a big achievement for me.

But, what I liked the most about this program, is that it is a 10 weeks course that gives you so much knowledge that you can continue on your own. I'm grateful that Stephane has guided me through good and hard times. It is life skills and a lifelong lesson.

Today, I feel healthier, my overall well-being has improved a lot, my skin is better, I have fewer sick days, much fewer headaches and my digestive system has improved.

Thank you, Stephane! You are a wonderful mentor and a big inspiration!!"

Christina Rosthof

"As a beginner to running, I was very pleased to join this program mixing running sessions and teaching meditation and mindfulness.

Learning has been smooth and the benefits rapidly noticeable: running has become a real pleasure, connecting body and mind has been a good way to control my stress and improve my sense of well-being, having regular physical activity has helped me to lose weight without feeling any hard efforts…

Even though I had to leave Malaysia, I still continue to learn and improve my practice of Stephane's teaching. I still practice every week and it still gives me the same pleasure and benefits. Also, a few times a year, I run half-marathons that I select not only for running but also for melting with awesome environments whether they are urban or natural.

Because Tao of Running is not only about running but also connecting the body and the mind with the world."

"Stephane is an excellent coach. As a mental health professional his techniques – a more natural style of running, embedded in mindfulness and a modern view of nutrition – really resonated with me.

Following his techniques allowed me to find – or rather make – those much-needed breaks in my very busy days. Apart from that, he is a lovely man. I thoroughly recommend Stephane."

“ Thank you Stephane for your coaching & continuous support!

I discovered the Tao of running in 2015. As a regular runner, I was not expecting major changes… but after the 10 weeks transformation program and a few half-marathons, I realize that it changed completely my vision and perception of running from the way to move, the way to use my mind, the way to breath and even the way to eat!

I completed my first half-marathon in June 2016 after a preparation based on long runs in the happy zone (1h52). One year later, I ran the SCKL with a more specific program, and I improved my performance by 7min.

And on Dec 4th,2017, with my running partner for 2 years (Loic ), we were running the Angkor Wat Half Marathon. Based on a 12 weeks program prepared by Stephane – more performance-oriented but still based on Tao principles – I beat my previous record by 10min (1h35).

This run in the middle of the temples was amazing… The day after, we felt so great that we were already thinking about our next objective with Loic… KL FM in April 2018! What a fantastic experience, everyone can find his own pleasure and satisfaction with the Tao of running… beginners likewise more experienced runners.

And the last thing, since I am practicing mindfulness regularly inside and outside my running practice, I manage better my stress of my day-to-day life and I feel better in my body and my mind! Well done Steph ! “

"Seeing the transformation that the Tao of running made in the lives and running techniques of my colleagues, I decided to give it a go.

I had two goals - learn to enjoy running and to be mindful. Thanks to Stephane I achieved both with the added bonus of sleeping better too!

Stephane knows his stuff, cares about your success, and gives you options to adapt what he teaches to your lifestyle"

After 10 Week Transformation Program in 2015:

"Tao of Running is an astonishing & original approach. It is more focused on learning/experiencing feelings and understanding oneself.

Stephane is passionate. He communicates his enthusiasm in a cheerful manner that makes the coaching sessions very comfortable.

Stephane managed to create a very original program that allows people from all backgrounds to feel how running can become rewarding without pain.

This is not theory, this is a living experience combining very interesting techniques and psychological approaches to encompass sport under a new angle, to feel one's body."

Loïc Martineau Entrepreneur

"I stumbled upon Stéphane's Facebook page by chance and reading through it got me interested. I then checked his website and I contacted him to see if I could do the program from abroad (I live in Belgium).

After telling him what my goals were I started the 10 weeks training. My objectives were to 1) stop hating to run 2) connect my body and mind. I did not aim at running a marathon but simply to start enjoying the act of running.

I received really more than expected! Stephane was really committed to this long-distance training; He shared his well-organized program with me as well as some very valuable and interesting videos and articles. I really enjoyed the means of communication we used (Skype and WhatsApp).

All and all I highly recommend this program and most importantly the trainer Stéphane. Thanks to him running is no longer a chore!"

Laetitia Bouazza

"When I decided to join this program, I could understand the benefits of running for physical and mental health but I was not doing it because I was finding running to be painful and not pleasant.

After this program, I am convinced that running is a natural and pleasant thing. I now find a sense of well-being and accomplishment in the activity of running.

Else, I'm still struggling practicing mindfulness but I have the feeling to be at the beginning of a mindful journey!"

Antoinr Comar Regional Head of Logistics Operations - Lazada

"Before joining the Tao of Running, I did not think I could jog for more than 5 minutes. So, I was intrigued by this 10-Week Transformation program and I decided to take part in it.

This well-researched and very informative training was extremely beneficial for me. It made me progressively change my mind about running and motivated me to practice regularly during the 10 weeks.

Having finished it, running is now part of my habits and routines and it makes me feel happier and healthier. On top of that, I have more free time as I don't have to drive anymore to any exercise classes as I was doing in the past."

Claire Nutgen
profile-pic

"I have been running for a long time, albeit sometimes more regularly than others. I typically hit the road when my body asked for it. This was like a call for a physical "detox".

However, depending on how long it was since my last run, I often came up with the desire to give it all out, push it to the limits. In some ways, I guess to compensate for the "feel bad" sentiment that I could have for not being active for a while. Surely then my body let me know that I went too far, with heart rate hitting the ceiling and legs aching after the run.

Tao of Running opened my eyes to a better approach. First by going back to basics and (re)learning how to run properly, but then by opening a door to another dimension, linking up body and mind. The latest is most certainly the largest benefit from taking on this course, as it allowed me to learn and practice how to better be in sync with myself during my sessions.

The enjoyment during my practice is by far greater, as I can now exercise, relax my mind and feel good in one go. I am looking forward to fine tuning my experience using Tao of Running techniques."

Laurent Maillefer VP Robotics - ABB
profile-pic

“Initially, I found running extremely boring so “to start liking to run" was my major goal when enrolling.

After the 10 weeks, I enjoy my runs, and I am looking forward to progress along this running journey. I warmly recommend the program to anyone new to running, people who struggle with including a sports routine in their life, or who want to better understand the mind-body connection."

"I had major surgery a few months before starting the Tao of Running program. I wanted to improve my techniques to be able to use running as a way to come back in better shape.

With Tao of Running, I learned the way to run without stressing my body. It has now become a habit that I practice on average 3 or 4 times a week and I feel fitter, more energized and I have started losing weight."

“My husband and I were struggling with our running technique for many years, despite having run a few half-marathons. The run was never really that enjoyable until we got to the finish line.

Then it all changed with Stephane. He taught us how to run in the ‘happy zone’ and as a result of this, we now really enjoy our runs. He introduced new concepts of mindfulness during running. His passion is contagious and after each class, we were all totally revved up to go running !!!

Whether you are a beginner or a pro, a runner or simply looking to make a lifestyle change, we would totally recommend you get in touch with Stephane. Totally worth it.“

I had several “a-ha” moments over the weeks and it has provided access to a huge amount of information summarized logically, presented in a fun and user-friendly manner. It is like 3 entire courses about running, mindfulness, and nutrition and how they relate to each other rolled into one!

For example, it allowed me to change a long-held mindset of 'all or nothing'. I run now 3 or 4 times a week without strain. I have more clarity, focus and I am better able to observe my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have also increased my ability of body awareness/sensing in the present moment.

I highly recommend this holistic and transformative program!”

"Running used to be a painful and energy-draining activity for me. Participating in the Tao of Running program helped me to commit some time/energy to do something and change the status quo.

The innovative Tao approach to running made me change gradually my perceptions and my feelings about running. My runs became more pleasant, more relaxing and my capacity to run longer distances has increased throughout the program.

Now, I do feel more motivated, healthy and I have a sense of "inner satisfaction" after each long run. Otherwise, Tao of Running provided me insights and techniques applicable in my everyday life to increase my well-being in general."

"The benefits I have gained from this program are immense and unexpected when I started. I have replaced my old sentence 'running is not for me. I hate it' with 'I cannot wait to go for my run!'

I strongly recommend this program to everyone. I have learned to listen better my body messages and how not to make the mistakes that many make through ignorance and misinformation.

I am surprising myself with the distance that I can run today with pleasure. I also practice mindfulness on a daily basis.

Thank you Stéphane for this discovery and for giving me the tools to make running a moment of pleasure and mental rest. Thank you for your listening and your availability as a coach!"

"Running is something I have been practicing to some extent, occasionally and on rather short distances. I felt good about some of the runs, and not so good about others. I was sometimes tired, sometimes not. I also wondered whether the way I was running was 'right' or 'wrong'.

Then, I followed Stephane's program. What a chance and a revelation. Thanks to Stephane's well-thought program, I got the opportunity to progressively understand what I can feel during a run and why, and how to better enjoy my runs so that it naturally pushes me to do more of them.

You may have heard or gone through other programs before, but the uniqueness of Tao of Running is the strong link that it progressively establishes between physical activity and the impact on the mind. Today, I can sense my positive emotions and put them in a broader context that I never experienced before meditation. And enjoy running to its full extent.

I recommend Stephane's program to anyone who wants to improve his running skills and capitalize on them to develop a positive mindset, and anyone who always wondered about what benefits running can bring to his/her life."

"Stephane's approach to running is truly unique. Positive, enthusiastic, attentive, and encouraging, he does miracles (really).

For personal reasons, I did not practice as regularly as advised during this program and I cannot say that running has become a habit yet. But, this program has really reconciled me with running.
When I practice, it is not a pain anymore. The only thing I remember at the end of a session is a feeling of well-being that will take me all day. It overturns everything one might think to know about running and the approach of a sporting activity in general.

Likewise, Tao of Running goes further than the activity of running. It opens a larger view of life and how a lot of things are integrated. It is similar to a rippling effect. For example, it opened my mind to the fact that I need to structure and organize my personal life a different way if I want to build a long-term balance and create a habit so that running becomes an integral part of my life."

"I took part in Tao of Running 10-week program to prepare for the running part (20 km) of a Spartan race. It gave me a totally different perspective of what running can be. What used to be a pain became a pleasure in a matter of weeks.

My old me would have been stressed out for weeks before the race but it was not the case. I was ready to enjoy the race and it is what I did whatever the obstacles that came in my way!

Additionally, I feel more relaxed and I have a better awareness of my body in my daily life.

Until today, I am amazed by this discovery and I am now considering running even longer distances.
Thank you Stephane for your secret weapon Tao of Running!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Is this a running program ?  No, it is more than that!

While you will learn running form and techniques to run efficiently and avoid injuries, this program is about much more than just running.

It's a 10-week journey to take better responsibility for your life. You'll learn various mind-body strategies, techniques, and tools to rewire your brain and re-balance your nervous system, which you'll apply to your running practice.

The program will lead to improved health, fitness, and a feeling of more balance and harmony, as well as increased confidence to navigate the fast-paced modern world with resilience.

By the end of the program, you'll have developed new habits and routines that become a part of your lifestyle, making this a mind-body transformation through running.

Question 2: I'm soooo busy 😩. How can I fit a 10-week program into my busy schedule? 🙄

Time is indeed a limited resource, and it is understandable that you may feel overwhelmed with other commitments. However, the Tao of Running program only requires about 3.5 hours of your time per week.

This includes 30 to 45 minutes of running practice, three times a week, and one hour of mind training practice, starting from the fourth week.To put it into perspective, 3.5 hours per week is less than 2.5% of the total 168 hours we have in a week.

But more importantly, this program will help you to train your attention and make the most out of your available time. By doing so, you'll collect the health and well-being benefits of moving your body while learning to manage your time more efficiently.

The best part is that this program allows you to hit two birds with one stone. As you master the tools and techniques, you'll benefit from the movement of your body while rejuvenating your mind at the same time.

The time you invest in this program will be regained several times over through improved sleep, more stable energy, better stress management, increased intuition, enhanced focus and creativity, and more.

Question 3: How are you different from other health and performance coaches?

I take a holistic approach to health and performance, considering the interconnectedness of all aspects of life. My goal is to help you connect the dots between exercise, breathing, sleep, nutrition, brain function, and more, to reduce internal friction and optimize your well-being.

Over the course of 25+ years of personal exploration and learning, I have developed this transformative approach. I have drawn from various fields such as running, NLP, mindfulness, nutrition, endurance mastery, the science of sleep, the science of breathing, the science of happiness, the science of flow, and change management. To further my expertise, I have obtained multiple certifications and credentials in these areas, which you can see in my profile.

Through my program, I guide you to create bridges and align the different pillars of your life to reinforce the transformation effect. You will also learn how to tap into your inner resources and balance your life in a way that suits your unique needs, leading to improved fitness, health, brain performance, and well-being.

Question 4: Is this program open to beginners? I am a complete novice. Yes it is! 🙂

Yes, the program is open to beginners, and it's designed to help people improve their health and well-being through the practice of running.

As everyone has a different level of fitness and experience, the program focuses on providing tools and techniques to better listen to the body and connect body and mind to progress at the right pace based on individual fitness levels. The program is not focused on performance, but rather on the enjoyment of the practice, which motivates practitioners to do more of it, leading to improved performance as a natural outcome of regular practice.

Some participants may have never run before and may start by mixing walking and running at the beginning, while others may have already run half or full marathons and want to enjoy their runs more, balance better their life, improve their nutrition and/or sleep, prevent injuries, and develop more efficient running techniques

Question 5: Can you tell me more about how the program works during the 10 weeks?

The Tao of Running Transformation program is a 10-week journey designed to elevate your fitness, health, mental performance, and overall well-being. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced runner, you will experience a fulfilling sense of incremental progress towards your specific goals.Over the 10 weeks (which can be adjusted for a 1-on-1 program), you will:

  • Attend 7 training and coaching sessions, each lasting 2 to 2.5 hours. These sessions will combine theory with on-the-run coaching, helping you to build knowledge and transform it into skills.
  • Receive guidance on how to practice on your own, typically three times a week, to reinforce what you've learned during the coaching sessions.
  • Have access to the key slides from the 7 training modules in PDF format.
  • Engage in regular interactions with me to share your challenges and progress, and receive additional reading material, videos, and apps to learn more about the science behind the program.
  • Use coaching cards to support your personal practice, and a 10-Week Transformation Program logbook to help you track your progress.
  • Receive a video montage at the end of the program to provide feedback on your posture and running form, and to summarize remaining opportunities for improvement.
  • Be invited to participate in the weekly group run, which includes both current and past program participants. [Only for participants living in Kuala Lumpur].

By the end of the program, you will have initiated a transformation in your life and experienced increased fitness, health, balance, and well-being. This will motivate you to continue on this path, making it a natural part of your new lifestyle.

Question 6: How can I know if this program will work for me?

While each participant's experience will be unique, I can confidently say that everyone will gain something valuable from this program that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Over 250 participants, with diverse profiles and backgrounds, have taken part in this program and can attest to its effectiveness. Men and women, young and old, employed or not, seasoned runners or complete beginners, analytical or intuitive, parents or not—each participant has her/his own story of transformation and growth.

You can read some of the testimonials from the past few years to get a sense of the impact this program has had on others.
While I can't guarantee specific results, I can assure you that the program will provide you the tools and support needed to start your own transformative journey for the best version of yourself.

Question 7: Does the program include group running sessions?

Yes, the practical part of running is included in modules 2 to 7 [excluding the remote version of the program where I probe more questions to understand the situation and use videos to provide feedback] and takes place in a group setting for group programs or one-on-one coaching for private programs

These sessions are typically held in Damansara Heights or other parks in Kuala Lumpur. In addition, weekly group run sessions are organized on weekdays between modules [as mentioned in question 3].

Each module lasts for around 2 to 2.5 hours, and participants receive a logbook at the start of the program with specific advice on how to practice and integrate learning during personal practice between modules [recommended to practice three times a week].

Coaching cards are also given at the end of each module to support the personal practice, with a digital version provided for video conference programs.

Finally, regular WhatsApp interactions between modules are available to participants to ask questions and receive help in meeting their specific challenges.

Question 8: What if I am unavailable for a particular module in a group program?

There are several possible scenarios in case you are unavailable for a particular module:

  1. If many people can't make it on that day, we will reschedule the module to a date that works for everyone.
  2. We can organize a short video call [e.g. Zoom, Team, Meet,...] to go through the key slides of the theory with you. I can spend more time with you during the following group run of the next module or during the weekly run [if you are able to attend].
  3. If I happen to have another group having the same module at a close date, either in person or by video conference, you can join that session.
  4. If you prefer a one-on-one session for the missed module, we can arrange that on a convenient date. Please note that an additional fee will be charged on top of the normal group program fee for this option.
